Brian is the minister of Double Shoals Baptist Church, former youth leader of Beth’s youth group, and long time friend and mentor. Brian is the most wonderful person to spread the word of God’s Grace. He is also insanely competitive!

Margie is Beth’s mother, mentor, teacher, inspiration, sing-a-long partner, go-to for any and all questions or help. She is the all around best person I can imagine. Love you, Mom.

Stephen is the Bride’s stepfather and has been for 39 years. Stephen is the best person to ask when you need something done, made, moved, or help with storage. He has been an important part of Beth’s life for 39 years and that has grown better and better each year.

While he is not here in body he is here in spirit. He is the man that taught Beth to love horses, fried mushrooms, and fried apple pies. He was a Texan through and through, and has passed a lot of that onto the Beth. Even though he left the earth way too soon he lives in Beth’s (and all who knew and loved him) heart forever. Love you, Daddy!

Mrs. Stolte is Doug’s mother and she lives in New Jersey where Doug was raised. Mrs. Stolte worked as a nurse when Doug was young, and is currently retired.

Kendall is Beth’s…well there are no words to accurately describe Kendall’s role. She has been a semi-daughter, niece, advice giver, entertainment, and travel buddy. Most importantly she has been a loving member of Beth’s chosen family since her birth. Her parents are Chantal and Nathaniel Wienecke (also family). One of Kendall’s first words was “Bep”. That was her attempt to say my name after hours of coaching. Kendall has recently graduated from Vassar and is so incredibly talented I cannot wait to see what life brings her.

Katie is Beth’s first cousin, “sister”, and best friend. She is the daughter of Ronnie and Ginger Spangler, wife of Daniel Shires, and super-mom of Cooper and Parker. She is an amazing artist, and continually surprises me with her talent and dedication.

Chantal is Beth’s best friend that came along at just the right time. Chantal and husband, Nat Wienecke, were Beth’s neighbors in Washington, DC. They are the parents of Kendall Wienecke. A series of unexpected events kept throwing us all together. We made our own chosen family 23 years ago, and we are still having fun, chasing Kendall, and roadtripping.

Nikki has been friends with Beth since before Beth even moved to North Carolina. They met in Vacation Bible School when both were still in elementary school.. Nikki and Bride spent a lot of time getting away with way too much fun. Nikki is married to Brian Enge, has two smart and talented daughters, Ava and Zoe. Nikki works as both Mom and massage therapist.

James is Doug’s youngest child. He is from Richmond, Virginia, and graduated from West Virginia University like his father. He still returns to Morgantown to support the Mountaineers and sing “Country Roads” every fall. He works at the Virginia State Corporation Commission.

Frank is a Myrtle Beach institution. For years Frank was the lead singer of a band called Pale Horse and Doug was their number one fan often riding with the band to their various shows. Frank and Doug have been friends for decades now. Frank’s wife and son, Brigitte and Demp, are good friends with Doug and Beth, also.

John and Doug met when they were both working for the Virginia Bureau of Insurance long, long ago. Their work friendship spilled over into real life, trips around the US for fun and football. John and his wife, Janice, have two daughters. John has now retired, but is being called into duty as a groomsman.

David is a colleague of Doug. They are also great friends, and have been for too many years to count. We are excited to have Dave in the bridal party and everyone getting to know him.

Callan is Doug’s first grandchild. He is the son of Doug’s daughter, Kaitlyn and her husband Mark McEwen. Callan will be 4 in April, and loves tractors and lawnmowers. He can also put a smile on anyone’s face.

Faith is one of Beth’s “Texas cousins” that she grew up with and kept close for all of these years. Faith and her sister, Danyale, are the vocalists for the wedding. Faith is married to Joe Lacey, and they have two kids, Hudson and AnnMarie. Faith has devoted her life to raising her family and taking care of her extended family. She is also a decades long volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodea.

Danyale is one of Beth’s “Texas cousins” that she grew up with and kept close for all of these years. Danyale and her sister, Faith, are the vocalists for the wedding. I used to babysit Danyale when she was very young, and then we were briefly roommates at Deborah's hotel. Danyale is married to Donald Antley and they have four kids: Kilea, Marina, Maycee, and Dylan. Danyale has recently become a guidance counselor after pursuing her degree.

Cooper is the eldest son of Katie Spangler Shires and Greg Earl. He is a beloved great-grandchild, grandchild,son, nephew, and cousin. He loves baseball, but can play just about any sport he tries. He is a Sophmore at Crest High School where his dad can keep an eye on him.

Bryce is the eldest child of Josh and Brooke Spangler. He is a beloved great-grandchild, grandchild, son, nephew, and cousin. Bryce is a competitive swimmer, and he does extremely well in competition.

Parker is the youngest son of Katie Spangler Shires and Greg Earl. He is a beloved great-grandchild, grandchild, son, nephew, and cousin. Like his brother, Parker loves baseball. Parker has been on several championship teams and keeps on going. He also helps Gray, aka Uncle Ronnie, work on the farm.

Taylor is Josh and Brooke Spangler’s youngest child. She is a beloved great-grandchild, grandchild, daughter, niece, and cousin. Taylor loves horses, and competes in events all over the state. She now has a horse she can call her own, and taking care of him is a favorite thing for her.
